Every day, week, month and a year
is always summer, I always look for something to explore and to
relax outside the metro, so let me share this to you guys one of the places
that we visited in Quezon province.
“CAGBALETE ISLAND’”…hhmm sounds like “ BALETE” the famous balete drive
where in white lady appears
during night but it’s not what you think of, you might not notice any balete tree in the island.
I’ve been in Cagbalete for almost three
times now and still my heart and soul always wanted to go back again and again,
WHY??? It’s because the place is relaxing and amazing including those locals
which is very accommodating.
Located in the town of Mauban,
Quezon. Approximately a five
to six hour travelling time from metro manila, it’s still
quiet accessible .From edsa, you can take JAC LINER on kamias road, there are buses bound to Mauban,Quezon and pass through the town Laguna and Batangas, first
trip is 4:00am you better not to miss the first trip cos the second ride will
be at 10 am and fare is around 345 pesos
(not sure if it’s updated) .
The
bus will drop you at mauban exactly, from there take a tricyle ride that
will take you to the port for about 5-10
minute ride and fare is 15 pesos each, the last time I went there that was
2014, I was surprised that they are now charging an environmental fee of 50 pesos each, I’m wandering where this money will go to cos you’re
actually going to the island not at the port its acceptable if you pay in the
island , well anyways that’s what they
do. From the port you need to catch the first trip of the boat at 10 am,
there are two boats namely (“neneng” but forgot the second one) who travel back
and forth travel time is about 40-45 minute, depends on Weather condition the
second one is at 11 am don’t miss this guys or else you need to hire a private
one which a little bit expensive.

The first time I went there it was December with my friend Jayson, and
also it was the time that we met the other group namely Sam, Josh and Jiji our
friendship started in cagbalete by the way.
There’s a lot Resort in the island
that offers accommodation you can choose from Pansacola
beach resort, Villa Cleofas, Sto. Nino
and Villa Noe. All these resort offers a reasonable rate, you can
also make a bargain to save if you are on a tight budget and you can even ask
for a discount depends on your sales talk. We stayed in Pansacola beach resort
since it’s more easy to reach compare to the others, from the port it will take
for about 15-20 minute walk, if it’s your first time you can hire those little
boys at the port to guide you to the resort and payment depends on you, by the
way source of living in the island is hard most of the time fishing so whatever
amount you give will put foods on their table
and a smile on their face.

REMINDER:
ELECTRICITY IS ONLY FROM 6 PM TO 12 MIDNIGHT.
WASH ROOM IS GOOD,WATER SUPPLY IS GOOD AS WELL.
KITCHEN UTENSILS YOU CAN RENT,GRILLER IS AVAILABLE AT THE RESORT(THIS IS IN PANSACOLA ONLY).
In Pansacola beach
resort, nippa hut and rooms are available ranges from 1500-3000 pesos, they do
have air-conditioned room as well and if you really want to save on your travel
you can bring your own tent and just pay 300 pesos for pitching overnight,
water source is ok, wash rooms are good ..well, aside
from the awesome beach you can also
include this activity on your travel, you can ask the boatman that’s
working also in the resort to take you to “bonsai island”(500-600 pesos) where
in you can only see this during low tide, the view is perfect
for picture taking where in you can actually see the
neighboring island which is Polillo island so don’t forget to bring your
gadgets to capture every moment ,and also if you want to experience really fine
white sand you can ask the boatman to
take you to the “MANGROVE” (600 pesos)the
sand there is comparable to the likes of
Boracay and Puerto Galera, also water is clear perfect for snorkeling so bring
goggles as well.
Nippa huts
During our stay, we enjoyed the fine
white sand of the beach and clear water when you go into a bit deeper part, and what good
thing about the beach of the island is that it’s still shallow even you go for about 200 meters from the shore you will see a long and wide white sand of the beach during low tide.
Fine white sandAt bonsai island me fishing lol...
You can do bonfire as well
Chill before we sleep
OVERALL EXPERIENCE AWESOME…WILL I
GO BACK THERE? YESSSSS DEFINITELY.
